Meet Jo King
Jo King is a name synonymous with excellence in athletic performance. A former World Triathlon Champion Jo has taken the many athletic lessons she has learned and applied them to her unique approach to training. Whether you’re a world beater or are aiming for a your first fun run Jo can devise a plan for you.
Jo was a talented junior middle- distance runner and took up triathlon at the age of 18.
2 years later she won the 1996 World Junior title (Olympic Distance) in Cleveland, Ohio. 2 years later at age 22, Jo won the 1998 World ITU Olympic Distance title and in doing so became the first to have won both titles.
Jo went on to combine Olympic Distance, Formula One racing (super short) and Ironman Triathlons and was successful in all distances.
Some major victories to name were:
- Nice Long Course 1999
- Challenge Roth (Ironman distance) 1999
- Australian titles in Sprint Distance, Olympic Distance, Half Ironman and Ironman Distances.
Since retiring from Triathlons Jo’s drive and passion for being active has rubbed off onto many of her personal training clients and students from her Phys Ed classes, as she aims to show people how to make exercise a part of their lifestyle.
Jo’s biggest motto for her online training clients is Quality vs Quantity and combining a training program around the client’s life.

Triathlon
Jo King’s name represents a significant body of work in the world of triathlon. Her determination to succeed at the highest level made her a fierce competitor that lead her to that golden day in 1998 where she became the World Triathlon Champion.
From there started a remarkable run of success including wins in two of the world’s most famous triathlons in Nice and Roth. Both these events are revered among the triathlon fan base and to win both is a feat rarely achieved.

Since retiring Jo has not let the athletic grass grow under her feet and can be regularly seen at local races encouraging the athletes she coaches, watching an exciting day unfold or getting amongst it as a competitor.
Jo’s coaching philosophy can be defined as flexible and with a good eye to life’s many challenges. Jo’s programs and training days reflect that and attempt to blend in with what most people have as busy family, social and working responsibilities.
